take a break

Posted by: Abby In: Traveling

This past weekend, Josh took me to Cape May for a beach vacation unlike any other. First of all, we stayed in an awesome house that Josh found, with a balcony overlooking the beach. I thought that was a luxury reserved for CEO’s, so I was impressed right off the bat. Secondly, Cape May is [...]

tokens of affection

Posted by: Abby In: Things They Buy|Traveling

Josh visited our friends in Michigan last weekend, and I was so pleased that I had ordered him the world’s smallest letter a few days earlier so he would have some fun mail to come home to. I have admired this miniature postal service for months, and I was thrilled to place an order. I [...]

drink homemade peach wine

Abigail likes homemade peach wine so much that for 2 hours straight could not be seen without a cup of it. I on the other hand was finished with mine in 30 seconds it was so delightful. >

camping, the easy way

Posted by: Abby In: Outdoors|Traveling

This weekend Josh and I met up with his family at their camper on the Susquehanna River. Compared to last week’s jaunt to the Shenendoah State Park, this “camping” trip was completely effortless. It included two rides on an awesome pontoon boat, campfire-cooked (actually, burnt) hot dogs, a sudoku competition, taboo (we won!), a little [...]

fish (for trout)

Posted by: Josh In: Wildlife

Late Sunday afternoon, I took Abby to a nearby stream for some trout fishing. Abby says she’s no stranger to fishing, but that this was her first time using PowerBait. At least that’s her excuse for not catching any fish. I tried to tell her that it wasn’t such a good time to go fishing [...]

stand on mountains

Posted by: Abby In: Outdoors|Traveling

On the way back from an impromptu trip to visit me in Kentucky, Josh decided to take an impromptu camping trip to Shenendoah National Park. On 4th of July weekend. Boy, girl, rabbit, car, and motorcycle trekked across several southern states, stopping at an outdoors store in surprisingly-lovely Lexington, VA for a tent. At the [...]

ride the sportster

Posted by: Abby In: Motorcycle

I dream of owning a little scooter; Josh’s last bike was a Ducati Monster. This bike fits somewhere in between. It seats two comfortably, or uncomfortably, depending on how long the ride lasts. So far our longest bike ride has been 1 hour, but I’m sure we’ll top that this summer. I don’t know about [...]

stargaze

Posted by: Josh In: Outdoors

The first thing we did together was some stargazing. Unfortunately it was at a park, after 9 p.m., so we each got $223 tickets. I think we’d both say it was worth it.

  • The Neighbors: WAY TOO cool! I need to do this with Maggie! Hugs
  • Laura: Love it Ab! Glad you found a new spot to walk, and a rainbow too!
  • Gwendolyn Little: So glad you guys had a fun trip!! Josh looks so happy with his burger and shake haha.
