I was so happy to finally unveil my very belated Christmas present to Josh this past week. I wanted to stitch a portrait from one of Alison’s amazing photos- but I can’t believe I actually did it, and I’m so happy with the results.
Here are some close-ups, so you can see how I mixed thread colors to achieve the right colors:

This was a challenging project, and I was astounded that even after buying $47 worth of embroidery floss, I still didn’t have enough of the right colors (especially grays! DMC makes hardly any!). All that being said, I am definitely ready for a new project.
