jackson and the great outdoors

Posted by: Abby In: Outdoors|Wildlife

Lately Josh and I have been bringing Jackson outside to enjoy these last few weeks of summer. He used to be pretty scared of all that open space, but he’s starting to like all the good traction he gets on the grass (compared to our slick floors) and now hops around happily. Sometimes I feel pretty crazy for keeping a rabbit in our house- he’s messy, nervous, destructive (to power cords and wires!), and not always faithful to his litterbox.
But for some reason when we’re outside in what would be his natural habitat, I’m reminded of how cool it is to have a little wild animal of our own. He balances out all of the negatives by being easy to care for, odor-free, quiet, and good company. It’s always nice to have his small presence in the room with us.

So cute! Makes me miss my bunnies, Emil and Rhoda (well, maybe not Rhoda; she was mean).

How sweet Nancy, I never knew you had bunnies! There’s really nothing like a little rabbit as a pet :) .
