A Boy And Girl

and the things they do

Archive for the ‘Arts and Crafts’ Category

I’ve taken a couple thursdays off, but I finally had some fun stuff to share so I put together a post. -First of all, I made this stove top macaroni and cheese for the second time in a week and as I noted on my pinterest post, it’s dangerously convenient- one pot, no pre-boiling, any [...]

I had a fun morning making these fragrant, natural candles, and I decided to do a tutorial for you here, since I hadn’t found any that were that great (and learned a few things myself, along the way!).
Here’s what you need:

27 in the City.

Posted by: Abby In: Arts and Crafts|Food and Drink|Traveling

Josh is the best at planning trips for celebrations, and my 27th birthday was no exception. We stayed at the Hotel on Rivington, which was such a great part of the city to stay in. It’s such a funny shock to the system when you’re used to seeing this first thing in the morning, and [...]

Josh and I spent Easter visiting my sisters and brother and their families in Kentucky, and we had such an amazing trip. We are aunt and uncle to four little boys, and I cherish every minute we get to spend with them. It was only a 3 day trip, but we managed to fit in [...]

Mr. and Mrs.

Posted by: Abby In: Arts and Crafts

Last weekend Josh and I watched my dear friend Debbie marry her new husband, Wade. They have a lovely, romantic story (a pilot and a flight attendent!) and I couldn’t be happier for them. I was honored to be able to make their cake topper and enjoyed every moment putting it together. They are so [...]

We’re still on our honeymoon but we have a little down time today till we hop on a plane to our final destination: FIJI! I’ll have lots to say about our honeymoon when we get back, but first I have to gush about our wedding a little. The day went by just as fast as [...]

itchin’ for some stitchin’

I was so happy to finally unveil my very belated Christmas present to Josh this past week. I wanted to stitch a portrait from one of Alison’s amazing photos- but I can’t believe I actually did it, and I’m so happy with the results. Here are some close-ups, so you can see how I mixed [...]

MoMA

Posted by: Abby In: Arts and Crafts|Traveling

Lately it seems as though every time I visit NYC, it’s raining. This time, that was ok, since Josh and I had planned to visit the MoMA anyways. I particularly love the Architecture and Design floor, and Josh was happy to see more Picasso (we also visited his paintings at the Met earlier last year). [...]

crappy halloweiners!

Posted by: Abby In: Arts and Crafts|Food and Drink

We had “the hunter and his prey” idea ages ago, but the execution was very last minute. (Ha ha!) Josh’s costume was pretty straightforward since he already has a giant beard. I just glued felt ears to a headband, dressed in brown, and tried to give myself “doe eyes.”

get photographic

Posted by: Abby In: Arts and Crafts|Outdoors

Josh and I are super lucky to have had the experience of a photo shoot with an amazing (and quite well-known!) photographer, Alison Conklin. I have been following Alison’s blog for years and have always marveled at her beautiful photos. I figured there had to be some magical tricks behind her photos, something to make [...]
